Find egg donors

Our journey began in 2004 as Nordic Cryobank, founded by Danish PhD. Peter Bower, with a mission to help people achieve their dream of starting or growing their families through donor conception. We later changed our name to European Sperm Bank and continued to expand our services in more European countries.

Over the past two decades, we have helped bring more than 60,000 children into the world, becoming specialists in donor conception and fertility preservation.

Embracing change

As we grew, we realised that our role extended beyond providing donor sperm. This led us to become Fertio. It's a name that better represents our expanded services and ongoing commitment.

We are proud to become advocates for donor-conceived families, not only delivering the essential high-quality sperm or helping women find an egg donor but also pushing for acceptance, equal rights, and support for all family structures.

Ongoing commitment

Today, we continue to influence legislation, support mental health, and challenge taboos around donor conception. Our values of impact, care, expertise, and empowerment guide us in creating a more inclusive and supportive world for all families.

At Fertio, we are dedicated to making a lasting positive impact on society through the families we serve.

The sperm bike

The sperm bike has been an iconic part of our company for a long time and will continue to be under Fertio.

The sperm bike is a big cargo bike that looks like a sperm cell and usually attracts a lot of attention. It's a healthy and environmentally friendly way to get around - but it’s not just for fun.

We use the sperm bike to pick up donations from our donation hubs and transport them to our lab at our head office or to transport sperm straws to our fertility clinic partners.

How we care

At Fertio, we are dedicated to making a lasting positive impact on society.

Our commitment extends to everyone involved – donors, families, donor-conceived individuals, employees, and partners.
